Yes Mother Podcast Episode #01- First You Dream, Than You Die

image

Hey horror fans! The podcast where we cover the pilot episode is now available!

Episode 1 of Bates Motel does not waste any time introducing us to the Bates family and the world they live in. The episode begins with Norman finding his father dead in the garage and then jumps to 6 months later with Norman and Norma moving into the iconic Psycho house. The action doesn’t stop there! Norma is attacked by a very unhappy previous owner of the property, there is a murder and we see some pretty creepy interactions between mother and son. Listen along as Emily and Sue recap and discuss the episode, talk about what they are currently watching and introduce the “What the Bip” segment. What the bip is that you ask? You will just have to listen to the bippin episode to find out. There is also a spoiler segment at the very end, so be warned! If you are watching season 1 of Bates Motel for the first time and listening along, you may want to avoid the spoiler section.

Investigating Mars Episode #038- Rat Saw God

In this episode of Veronica Mars, Abel Koontz’ daughter is missing and he is close to death, the sheriff’s race is over, and something about a rat.  We have no guest for this episode where we discuss the awesomeness of Joss Whedon and no one has notes so craziness ensues.

Quote of the episode: “I’d much prefer a threesome to teenage drama.” -Jimi

Moriarty calls Holmes to have him look into the several-month-old unsolved murder of a mechanic. Holmes learns the mechanic was surveiled by a private security firm whose founder’s sister was killed 20 years ago. The security expert confesses to the mechanic’s murder, but Moriarty says the murderer has not been found. Holmes discovers that the security expert did not see the murderer flee 20 years ago. It was instead his wife who saw the murderer. When her husband’s mental health was failing, she convinced him that the lookalike mechanic was the murderer; this revenge stabilised his mental health. It is proven that the mechanic was innocent, having been out of the country at the time of the sister’s death. The security expert’s wife is also arrested for the mechanic’s murder. In payment, Sherlock receives an address and a choice to lead a safe life or find out about Irene. He lies to Watson, who sees through this. The pair discover Irene in an abandoned house.

Introducing a new podcast! “Yes, Mother: A Bates Motel Podcast”

imageWelcome to episode one of the Yes Mother Podcast. A podcast about the A&E show, Bates Motel, which is a modern day imagining of the story of Norman Bates and his mother in the early days. This podcast is hosted by Emily and Sue, a couple of sisters (literally sisters) who love this show and love podcasts, so it was a no brainer to start this. Emily already does a podcast, The McKinley Cast about the TV show Freaks and Geeks. Sue has never done a podcast but listens to a lot of them.

In this episode you are introduced to the hosts, kind of, we talk about the show and why we like it so much. We talk about some of the cast and we go over a little about what we are going to talk about in the upcoming episodes. We also have a little discussion about what we are currently watching. You can send us any feed back at yesmotherpodcast@gmail.com, also you can join our Facebook group (and it would be really cool if you did, because we just made it and we are the only members, so that is really sad).

With Harker’s help, Grayson begins to dismantle the Order of the Dragon from within by attacking its members one by one. He unmasks and exploits Lord Lorenz’s secret to his own advantage. This ultimately leads the Order to take drastic measures to reprimand members who break the rules. As a result of a chain of events resulting from Grayson’s blackmail of Lord Lorenz, he, in turn, earns a powerful enemy within the Order of the dragon — Lord Davenport. Renfield proves to be a sophisticated and skillful tactician in business matters on behalf of his employer, and this W2 form guide is also good to provide to employees. Grayson investigates Lady Jayne and finds brutal proof regarding her secret life within the Order — now he realizes he must change his tactics with her. Lucy tries to help Mina who is depressed over the current sad state of her relationship with Jonathan. Mina confides in Grayson about her troubles and Grayson offers Jonathan advice to help fix the situation. Jonathan and Mina reconcile and become engaged to be married — all according to Grayson’s plan to continue to keep Mina close, but not too close (from Wikipedia).

Sherlock is given a hint by Sebastian Moran, the man he once thought to be Moriarty. He looks into well-disguised murders and catches a killer hired by Moriarty. With the killer’s help, he finds another man hired by Moriarty, but that man is then murdered. Moran commits suicide, after Moriarty lets him choose between his own death and his sister’s death. At the end of the episode, a phone rings; it is Moriarty calling Holmes.

McKinleycast epsiode #04 “Kim Kelly is My Friend”

Wait… what did that say? After Tricks and Treats, Kim Kelly is the last person in the world I would want to call my friend.

Sure she is negative. Sure everything out of her mouth thus far has been rude. Sure she acts out in horrible ways when something or someone is the least bit threatening to her. Is there possibly a reason for that? Could we perhaps get a glimmer into this monster’s psyche and chip a piece of her facade away? Will it be enough? More importantly to this podcast- will it be enough for the newbies not to hate her with the intensity of a thousand suns?

Listen to the latest McKinleycast episode covering the most heavy subject matter to date on Freaks and Geeks (and two count them TWO epically awkward dinner scenes back to back). This episode seems to hit the apex of uncomfortable scenes in the show, some so uncomfortable NBC refused to air it. Luckily we like that about this show and they are also intermingled with scenes of a stoned Nick magically procuring Jean’s fruit rolls out of thin air to satisfy his munchies (but don’t worry, he always politely asks before eating them).

Join the McKinleycast crew (CCARE? RACE-C? CREAC?) and Guest Kelly Jo as we tackle the ups and downs that is Kim Kelly is My Friend. Oh yeah, and Sam is a pygmy geek. And Karen from The American Office is a bully and a slut. Good times had by all.
