Yes Mother Podcast, Bates Motel S3E9: “Crazy”

01518dc68cdbbd975b084c7b6663c7ff4a65c33440

Well, here we are. It’s almost the end and it feels like this season just began, but what a short, strange trip it’s been. In this episode of the pocast, Em and Sue give a shout out to the moms out there especially Norma (who didn’t have a great week) and our own mom (RIP, Jane). Then we read your feedback and recap the episode. We also treat you to (we hope it’s a treat anyways) an in depth analysis break down of one of the scenes…which one? I’ll give you a hint: Normero is in it.

Sit back and grab a sandwich, this might take awhile…

Yes Mother, Bates Motel: S3E8 “The Pit”

01015c38a0e00fa17dc20b0ec0e4dde91e9f35f57bThis is the “Norma’s Mercedes Resurrection Podcast”! Unfortunately, it’s also the “Every Relationship on the show except for Dylemma’s Memorial Podcast”.  BOOOO!

ATTN: Normero Shippers
Get your dunglees on and come slip between the sheets of Mama Bear’s giant bed, because she has some theories and calming words to share with you. Don’t despair– this won’t be the last Resurrection Podcast we put out. Mark my words, and get tucked in as many times as you need, Mama Bear’s here and everything will be alright.

Shhhh…

We also you know, read feedback and recap the whole episode and stuff.

Just for now…

Yes Mother Podcast: Bates Motel S3E7 “The Last Supper”

Bates-Motel-The-Last-Supper-Season-3-Episode-7-02This week brought us another fantastic episode, after a run of fantastic episodes this season!  This week delivered it all: awesomely quotable Norma lines, Dylemma fans swooned as Dylan and Emma had stars in their eyes (where’s Norman?……Who??). Speaking of that attractive and masculine twit: Norman had some of his creepiest, most fantastic moments to date, and he absolutely does not want to sleep with his mother.  Nope- he’s never even thought of such a thing #mamabooty.  There was also a little something for the Normero shippers (Rates) oh boy- if you weren’t on that ship before, you are now.  By the way- HOW COME NO ONE TOLD ME ABOUT THE ADORABLENESS THAT IS DRUNK ROMERO??  I could have met him before season 3.  So much wasted time.  We are so glad that the series will now just consist of nice, family dinners where everyone gets along and there is nothing but laughter and conversation…0_o #shhhhhh

Oh wait… was this episode called The LAST supper?

Shoot.

I also wonder…why is the whole world not watching this show?

Yes Mother: Bates Motel S3 E5 “The Deal”

01b7a6d35f7ce3e5b767750bbf791a3f6582bc8b5fIn this episode of Yes Mother, Emily and Sue discuss the amazing, mid-season episode that is The Deal. In The Deal, we find Norma finally having the people of White Pine Bay by the short hairs! So grab Romero, and let the negotiations begin! Oh also- Dylan and Norman really think that Norma needs to let Caleb have a chance to say he is sorry for incestual rape. How did that go boys? Right. Good plans all around. Also we get an epic Chick sighting. White Pine Bay rules!

In the podcast episode, Em and Sue discuss the finer points through the feedback, then go into an episode discussion. At the end, we have an extra long spoiler section in which we discuss the Q & A Carlton Cuse did with the fans. It’s in the spoiler section because he drops a few hints on what may be coming, so only the most sensitive to spoilers really need stay away. At the very end, you get a taste of what it’s like recording a podcast during spring break.

Yes Mother: Bates Motel S3E4: “Unbreakable”

013df12530322f01d079d4e458bd63fd65aa68a11fIn the 4th episode of this season’s Bates Motel, frankly- we seem to learn a little more about some characters then we wished to know. Too much about Norman’s quest to make his girlfriend jealous -and we don’t mean Emma- (and while we’re at it: too much about his horrible sandwich making habits!). Too much about Bob Paris and his regard of hookers, and TOO MUCH about Caleb’s feelings about his sister! Despite the over sharing- it was an enjoyable episode (and one Emily didn’t realize was so funny until she recorded a podcast about it with her sister).

Join Em and Sue as we laugh our way through breaking this unbreakable episode down! (While I’m at it: why oh why did Caleb prove to be unbreakable??? He’s alive- dammit!)

Yes Mother, Bates Motel S3E3: Persuasion

01cacd65df9b64e056e08d5fbddecbf38c6af90401Well, episode 3 aired this week and it didn’t disappoint (well, it disappointed Sue a little since Chick was absent).  Other than that- we had some great stuff: Norma in a morgue, capers with pot plants, hulkified bed lifting and a few plot twists we didn’t see coming.  Not to mention Norman’s head mama made an appearance.  Join Em and Sue as we (hurriedly) try to make sense of the season so far.

Just so you all know: this is the podcast that almost never was.  Emily is putting on a gigantic function this week (almost over- tomorrow night!) so she had very limited time- but who could brush off Bates Motel and this podcast?, THEN the recording mysteriously stopped 30 minutes in- but no fear Sue hopefully recorded a back up.  Yep she did, but her computer won’t let the file open.  Sue pulled off a miracle while Em was too busy to help her or answer her questions and got it and sent it over.  Anyway- here it is… I’m happy to be able to present it to you this week albeit a little late.  (It would have been later -like sunday- but I sprained my ankle today and got out of a mid day appointment and viola!  Editing time!  Now that you know our life story– enjoy the podcast :).

Yes Mother: Bates Motel S3E2: “The Arcanum Club”

01938785a3b2588d639c89fb33b005c1dd3f1bdc2cIn this episode, Norma gets worried that her guest in #4 is MIA *Norman!*, Romero moves out of the motel *boo* (resulting in the most gloriously awkward moment EVER), Norman and Emma go out on their first date *shudder*, Caleb shoots a dog *idiot* and Norma gets sneaky in a formal *ecstatic*. Oh and loses it on the bypass sign as only Norma can. In other words this episode was fantastic! Or so WE thought…

Join Em and Sue as we break this episode down, come up with some theories and try to explain away what is going on in Norman’s head. We also laugh, have some good times, read listener feedback, check in some new guests, wash some towel, drills some peepholes….it’s all a good time.

Yes Mother: S3E1 “A Death in the Family”

0146878dba9b1d83762f7755922daf0ba17a50cdb7Bates Motel is back and so are we!  It’s good to be back to White Pine Bay, even if our recent audio troubles followed us here*.  Dylan’s back in the house, Norman and Norma are spooning, Emma’s at the front desk, all seems right with the world.  Psycho world, that is.  Crazy things are being set up for what will hopefully be the best season yet!  Join Em and Sue as we recap the episode, go over our guest book reservations, open up a new B & B (it’s not weird), and read your feedback!

*I am almost 100% certain I have figured out the problem and can now avoid it, so sorry again- let it never happen again!  MOSE! OLAF?

Em and Sue Watch Psycho III and some other stuff (aka The Jane Wright Memorial Podcast)

Psycho 3“One month after the events of PSYCHO II, Norman is still running the Bates Motel along with “Mother”. Things are going fine until Norman falls in love with a fallen nun, takes in a greedy drifter, a nosy reporter sticks her nose where it doesn’t belong and a series of murders begins once again. ”

That sounds so promising, but it sounds much better than it was. Or that’s what Em and Sue thought. You can either watch the film, or just listen to Em and Sue talk about it. We also discuss some of the other stuff we’ve been watching (I can’t think of anything specific, so just listen to find out). If you don’t give a bip about the other stuff we’ve watched, just skip ahead to roughly 1:20:00 to get to the Psycho III discussion.

Jane Wright 1944-2014

imageWe dedicate this podcast to Em and Sue’s dear mother, Jane Wright, who passed away suddenly on New Year’s Eve. Thanks for being such an awesome mom and grandmother, you are greatly missed. You fostered and nurtured a love of movies in us from a very young age and we owe you a lot.
