Yes Mother Special Episode: Em and Sue’s Favorite Movies pt2

76c6c8382770dee34a504eca6edfb020

What happens when Banksy visits the West Bank. (Just continuing the theme).

Here be the rest of our movie podcast– this time with our “sub lists” cause come on! You didn’t really think we could narrow our picks down to just 10 movies, did you? Not a chance. In this episode you will see our lists of: Movies we love but never need to see again, movies we love more then any one else we know, and you can even find out our secret shames and more… (although we spared you all our hoity- toities.)
This episode also has the feedback portion, which was actually our favorite part. Thanks to all who wrote in and shared your lists with us! It was so much fun reading them and getting to know you all better through your favorite movies. We love movies and think these lists provide a special window into your lives, and we appreciate you sharing them with us.

Happy Holidays and Happy (late) Birthday Yes Mother!

Yes Mother Special Episode: Em and Sue’s Favorite Movies

7e2133f8ca581508c753643f84c04b69It’s Yes Mother’s anniversary (or was a month ago), so for that we planned a special episode. We decided to share our favorite movies.
These are the movies Em and/or Sue want to curl up with on a rainy day, movies that shaped us when we were young and movies we just plain think are cool.
I had to break it up into 2 parts and struggled on how to do that. I settled for releasing just our straight up top 10, which will be followed in just a couple of days by our sides lists and YOUR lists or feedback- which is actually a longer episode.

We are putting it all out there folks- try not to make fun of us too much and we hope you still respect us in the morning. But mostly– we hope you all enjoy.

Yes Mother: What We’ve Been Watching autumn

2158Just an update on what Em and Sue have been watching. It’s mostly Sue though, as Emily has been lame and hasn’t been watching much (She also forgot her notes and therefore forgot she watched Saved By the Bell: The Unauthorized Story! You guys were cheated out of finding out how that went.) Anyway, Sue made up for it as she has watched a lot. Too much to list here, but some highlights include: Hello Ladies, Serenity, Derek season 2, Lady in a Cage, and the finale of Tru Blood.

Yes Mother: Em and Sue watch Psycho II (and What We’ve Been Watching)

PsychoIIHey guys- We took a break from Buffy and watched the 1983 sequel: Psycho II. We also discussed a little of what we’ve been watching lately including: The Conjuring and The Innkeepers (which we watched together while visiting our other sisters), Em watched Orange is the New Black, Frank and Robot, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer The Movie. Sue watched True Blood, rewatched 6 Feet Under, Done the Impossible, Odd Thomas, and An Idiot Abroad.

Come join us! By the way… if you’re only interested in Psycho II (and who wouldn’t be???) our discussion on it starts almost exactly at the 1:00:00 mark).

Yes Mother: What We’ve Been Watching, Summer Edition

Hey guys- so we recorded this ages ago, but we were smoking the Buffy episodes, so it kept getting put on the back burner. I had edited it way back a ways too, so I honestly don’t remember much about what is discussed, so lets just make it a surprise for all of us huh?  Ah summer, it does this to me.

Yes Mother Podcast: Bates Motel Season 2 wrap up (and contest winners!)

bm9On this week’s edition of Yes Mother we are doing our season 2 of Bates Motel wrap up! We each do a top 5 favorite things of the season, we discuss some disappointments and what we hope to see in season 3. We also talk about what we’ve been watching. Em is once again grieving over Mad Men and Sue watched Rise of the Planet of the Apes while camping and may or may not have looked for apes up in the trees after. Who am I kidding? Of course I looked for apes in the trees! We also announce our contest winners and apologize that the podcast announcing the deadline to get contest entries and season 2 top 5’s in posted just a few hours before the deadline we set.

Yes Mother Podcast: What We’ve Been Watching Ep #22

CLH.Oe.0804.serenityIn this episode of Yes Mother Sue and Em talk a little about podcast plans while we wait for season 3 of Bates Motel. Looks like Sue will be watching some Buffy. We announce the deadline to get in on the contest and to get in your top 5 favorite things about season 2 of Bates Motel. And then we get into what we’ve been watching lately. Sue finds out that Green Day is apparently lame.

Yes Mother: A Bates Motel Podcast, Season 2 finale “The Immutable Truth” Part II

imageHere is the second part of Em and Sue’s discussion of the finale and it gets real up in here on old Yes Mother. Ponderings and feelings and stories come out as we get to the nitty gritty parts in the episode. Souls were bared people.

Anyway, we discuss what we thought of the demise of the weed empire “giants” (giant sacks of nothing and crap they were), among others, we discuss Norma and Dylan’s relationship, Norma and Norman’s, and Norma(n)s. We also say good bye to White Pine Bay for the greater part of a year. *Sniff*

Join us- we think you will have a good time along with us. We also discuss the future of our podcast (or what will be going on in the interim).

Yes Mother: A Bates Motel Podcast, Season 2 finale, “The Immutable Truth” Part I

imagePart I? Yes- we found so much to talk about on this gem of a finale, we kind of kept going for 2 podcasts worth. We forwent What We’ve Been Watching though, to make up for it. In this finale, we get Norman rescued, see a couple deaths we have all been hoping for, watch Romero be Batman, see Emma get some answers (and then promptly want to put those answers right back where they were), and Norma face some very tough decisions- but at least she wasn’t alone to do that (and big no- we don’t mean George). Norman needs to pass a seemingly impossible lie detector test…. But we don’t get to most of that here. In this first part of the podcast, Sue and Em discuss feedback and everything up to and including Norman’s (that’s the ship name Norman’s) “last” dance. We also pretty much swoon and go all girlie on all the touching moments the show provided, then we discuss Buffy podcasts for a while.  Join us!

Yes Mother Podcast: What We’ve Been Watching for Ep #20

Holy1Kind of a quiet week here in our other watchings. Sue finished Veronica Mars and watched a little Wonder Woman. Em watched Freddie Highmore in Toast (in this movie he has step mother issues). She also watched the mother of all What the Bip movies: Holy Motors.

Find out what we thought of all this and then stay for a little story time with Sue entitled, “Sue’s Dinner with Meth Heads”.
